Right in front of You…

One of the key differences from the Brazilian to Argentinian side of Iguassu is that from Brazil the falls are always right in front of You. Hence 75% of them are geographically located in Argentina. We say that if it is better to see the falls from Brazil, on the other hand it is better to feel them from Argentina, so one side complements the other.

The length of the sightseeing walking tour from Brazil is about 1 mile (1.6 kilometers), most of the way is flat, with a couple of steps up on the way. The only time You will have to choose a turn make sure You turn right down stairs, otherwise You will miss the catwalk and the whole last part of the walk, taking a shortcut to the exit.

If among You someone has knee or some sort of walking issues, We recommend to do the beginning and go with our Tour Guide/driver directly to the tower of the elevator, doing so They can still enjoy the falls covering the beginning and the end of the sightseeing. Impossible to do it with a baby carriage or wheelchairs.

The catwalk

You may get a little bit wet here but it’s fine hence on hot days the spray will be refreshing. You never get all the way to soaking wet. At the end of the catwalk a marvelous view to the Devil’s Throat, to the left. You really do not need a raincoat (exceptions are during our winter time, June, July and beginning of August, it’s a bit cold).

By the way there is no dry season in Iguassu Falls, most the water is from rainfall and it’s always raining around the Iguassu area. There is no best time of the year to visit Iguassu in terms of the level of water at the falls, it really is unpredictable. What You may avoid is a couple of big national/latino holidays whereas sometimes You may cross thousands of other visitors around and that is not a nice experience.

The other important variable You should consider is the temperature, basically from Spring until the end of Summer, a bit of the beginning of Fall as well, You may get hot days, almost 8 months. The hottest months are Octuber, November, December, January, February, March and the first half of April. You are looking at 112 Fahrenheit or 44 degrees Celsius plus the humidity which is always high, it’s like a Greenhouse effect over your shoulders easily. Have always water with You please.

View from the elevator’s tower

Also available in Brazil is an elevator so visitors do not need to walk up what They did down. Besides making our lives much easier, a wonderful overall view as a grand finale.

Right after the catwalk You will see the tower of the elevator. You do not need to pay to use it, just line up and jump inside. No buttons to press They are automatically run. If the line is too big, to the left of it there is the access to the stairs so You can walk all the way up, heavy steps.

Besides the view, bathrooms, a coffee shop with refreshments and a couple of tables and seats to rest. In here You may find the Quatis (local animals, look like raccoons), please do not feed nor eat in front of them, it may trigger their more wild instincts and They may try to get your food. Otherwise They are very easy going, just hanging around us with no damage.
