The train of the jungle
Understanding the train schedules of Argentina is not an easy task, They change according to the season and big holidays like Easter for example. If You do not want to waste time on the spot trying to make sense of train departures and what to do first on the Argentine side, We can help.
Depending on the season and/or a particular day it would be better to start off going directly to the Devil's Throat train station from the Central Station located at the visitor's center. But We only learn that being at the Argentine side and no one better than a experienced (and licensed) Tour Guide who knows the National Park like the back of their hands to figured it out on the fly.
If the lines for the train are too big or the wait for the next departure is more than 30 minutes, walking through the Argentine National Park from Visitor’s Center until the Cataratas Station or straight to the Upper Path, is an opportunity to explore even more all the nature that Iguassu has to offer.
The Devil’s Throat
Definitely the highlight of the Argentine Side, the Devil's Throat is the closest You can get to the Iguassu Falls and the smallest You will ever feel. It really is an unique and fantastic experience, the wind, the sound, the spray and the overall magnitude of its size, it all make us humans insignificant.
The background of its name is religious and it takes a different level of analysis, for another time. The walk from the Devil's Throat train station to the balcony is about 1.1 kilometers away (around 3 quarters of a mile) and it's totally flat with no steps at all. Benches on the way so one can sit down, rest a little and keep going, especially on hot days when sometimes We can get 112 Fahrenheit with 85% humidity.
Bathrooms and snack bars are both available at the Train Station and usually train departures happen every 30 minutes depending on the season. It takes a minimum one hour to do it but if You have seniors or people with some sort of walking issues You may consider more time to do it.
The Upper Path
Many visitors ask us if it is worth it or not. If You have time and energy, sure. The view to the falls from the balcony of the Devil's Throat is narrow down to its surroundings so one has no idea about the overall magnitude of Iguassu's canyon, the largest in the world, 2.4 kilometers, forming around 274 different waterfalls.
So yeap, it is worth doing it hence it lays exactly on the rest of the falls which You can not see from the Devil's Throat. The length is 1.6 kilometers (one mile) and also is flat, no steps and a couple of benches on the way. But please notice that here, different from at the Devil's Throat, it's a one way sightseeing, no do not come back from the same way, just keep going ahead.
Rainbows are often seen around the Upper Path, as well as Capuchin Monkeys, Pin pin guan birds, egrets, caymans, lizards on the trees and a couple of other unexpected surprises, so keep your eyes open.

What about the Lower Path?
The view You get from the Lower Path is to the same set of falls You see from the Upper Path but with a lower perspective. Notice that there are over 200 steps down and eventually back up and no lift or elevators available. At the beginning You have a bathroom and snack bar around, make sure You always have water with You. If You do not do this part of the Argentine Side of Iguassu Falls You are not missing a great deal of the Falls.
The length of this part is 1.7 kilometers, considering the steps it takes around 01:30h to do it.
Great Adventure Boat Ride
